super January 7, 2009 Sue A. Mohr scale was just what I wanted for my daughter for christmas. Her and Her husband process their own deer, and this makes weighing so much easier. She liked it because she could use Her own bowl to measure or weight with. I would purchase it again for a gift.
Great little scale January 7, 2009 K. Rubin This is a great little scale. It's small enough to leave out on my counter and not get in the way. It's very easy to use. The only thing you need to be aware of is if you are using a plate or wide bowl on the scale it can be difficult to read the screen. I would recommend this scale to anyone looking for a kitchen scale.
"Scale" down your health risk January 7, 2009 L. Nissenbaum (Brooklyn,NY USA) This scale is great. I can weigh the container, add the food, reweigh, subtract the container weight and know exactly what I am putting into my recipe. Very useful if you are trying to control your intake of fats, sugars, carbohydrates, protein or any food or nutrient - allows for portion control in grams or ounces. Great for accurate measuring when baking or cooking (eg: recipe calls for 4 ounces of pistachios. No bells and whistles (eg:no clock, no memory, no complicated screen. Just on/off and grams/ounces.) If what you want is an accurate, easy to use scale, this is it.
Excellent little scale January 7, 2009 Bonnie B. Allen (Texas) This scale is easy to store, use, and clean. It's accurate and not unattractive.
Great Little Scale January 6, 2009 EOS (Berkeley, CA USA) This little scale is extremely easy to use, easy to clean and easy for me to read without my glasses! I am a professional cook who tests a lot of recipes. Ingredient proportions by weight are the most accurate--especially in baking. The 11 pound capacity of this scale makes it perfect for weighing small batch commercial test batches of dough (5 to 10 pounds). I use it for portion control recipes and portioning out bulk items. I also use the metric measure to translate European recipes. For the home cook: The scale uses a small footprint on the counter, it is easy to clean, super easy to use and comes in a bunch of sexy colors. No kitchen should be without a scale and the Escali is the best non-commercial scale I've used. A bit of advice, as with all scales--handle it gingerly, don't bang it around--don't DROP it. Try to store it where you will be using it. The less a scale gets moved around the longer it lasts. This applies to any scale--mechanical or digital. But digital scales (commercial ones too) tend to be especially delicate when it comes to banging them around.
