Amazon.com Product Description Ideal for travelers, trade show exhibitors, and anyone else who frequently schleps boxes and other gear from place to place, the Magna Cart personal hand truck is engineered with toughness in mind. The 7-pound hand truck is made of sturdy rustproof aluminum, with a telescoping handle that extends to 39 inches tall. As a result, both tall and short users can comfortably haul up to 150 pounds at once. The 5-inch rubber wheels, meanwhile, roll smoothly on virtually any surface, from pavement to trim carpet to linoleum. Best of all, the truck folds up compactly for storage or carrying, with a footprint of only 25 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The hand truck's narrow profile makes it ideal for carrying on planes (it fits easily in overhead compartments), trains, and cars, and when you're not using it, simply hang it on a peg in the garage or stow it next to the fridge.

Not going to work for heavy loads January 2, 2009 C. Fitts (Montpelier, VT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this cart as a gift and broke it on it's first day of use. I made sure that I never loaded more than about 100 lbs on it (it's rated for 150 lbs). The problem is not how much you can push with it, but getting it to tilt back with a heavy load without bending the rods in the back (which are very cheap and thin). Once the back is bent it will no longer collapse down. The back is also not very high, which means for a heavy load you have to tilt it back very far and lean down as you walk. I did appreciate the maneuverability of the wheels and how small it collapsed down. I think that if you are looking for something to use every once in a while to move small things, the Magna Cart will work fine, but if you want something that you can use on a regular basis for loads of more than 50 lbs, this will break in no time flat.
Space-saving Hand Truck December 24, 2008 MM-K (California) I bought this for my Dad, and I am sure that he is going to love it! Sturdy and a real space-saver! I like the way it folds, and you can store it easily! I am thinking of getting one for myself! It is quite on the heavy-side, but it has to be--to be able to carry more stuff!
Cart Hand Truck Review December 22, 2008 M. Devargas (Colorado) I purchased the Magna Cart Personal Hand Truck for my husband, we needed to move items inside the house. This cart is great I used it to move boxes, it turns easily, its light, easy to store. Great value for the price!
Very pleased! December 19, 2008 L. Mountford (Bellingham, WA United States) I did a lot of research before I finally decided on the Magna Cart Personal Hand Truck -- and I'm very happy with my decision. I keep it in the trunk of my car, and use it at least once a week. I direct a choir for "seniors" at a residential care facility, and need to transport a box or two of music, instruments (kazoos, tamborines, etc.), and assorted costume pieces for my 30 choir members. Many times, I have to park several blocks from the building, so I use the Magna Cart to get my stuff to the building in a single trip. It seems to manage stairs just fine -- I only have to negotiate 3 or 4 stairs at a time, so I don't know how it would do on long or steep stairs. But the wheels seem to be large enough to handle my needs quite well. I did get a couple of "bungee" cords to help secure the boxes to the foot plate, but that only set me back about $6 additional. I've had this hand truck for several months, and it's holding up great. No signs of wear, nothing loose -- looks and behaves like new. It's easy to fold and unfold (lowering the foot plate puts the wheels into position automatically), and takes up very little room in the trunk of my Prius. All in all, a great investment.
Best hand cart ever December 16, 2008 Eugene McCarthy (Southern California) As an artist I often have to cart boxes of materials from my car to my studio. The Magna Cart is perfect to keep in my car and very useful for transporting heavy loads without breaking my back.
