| Customer Reviews:
good for an apartment, but not great August 22, 2008 hurdler99 (OH) I'm in my mid 20's and in grad school. I wanted something that would keep my valuable paperwork safe and secure. For the most part I am happy with this fire safe, the latch seems secure and the entire thing does seem to be sturdy. Its made of a very hard plastic, which is fine with me, and the locking mechanism and face is metal. The only thing I don't like is that it isn't water proof and thus the lid lifts up just a hair, enough that if submerged in water the contents would definitely get wet. That being said, from what I've read from the manufacturer the case will seal itself in the event of a fire. So, if you are looking for something to keep sensitive paperwork (social, birth certificate, insurance, etc.) safe from fire or theft, I think this is a good buy for the price.
