Amazon.com Product Description A safe, stylish alternative to plastic water bottles, Sigg water bottles are a great choice for transporting beverages on your daily commute or while backcountry hiking. This ultra-lightweight bottle is extruded from a single piece of aluminum and holds 0.6 liters of fluid (20.3 ounces). Designed to fit your on-the-go lifestyle, it comes with a loop top bottle cap, which can be secured via hook or caribiner clip to a backpack or daypack. Sigg bottles are virtually unbreakable and are constructed with no seams, ensuring a long-lasting, leak-proof performance. They also feature Sigg's proprietary baked-on inner liner, which is made from a non-toxic, water-based epoxy resin that exceeds FDA requirements for leaching (0.0 percent) and is independently tested to be taste- and scent-neutral. Every Sigg bottle is 100 percent recyclable at the end of its life, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. About Sigg It all started with a simple hiker's bottle. Today, the SIGG bottle has acquired cult status. What happened is a success story that started in Biel, Switzerland in 1908. Kueng, Sigg & Cie. manufactured leisure goods, kitchenware, and electrical appliances. The company relocated to Frauenfeld in 1916, where it helped pioneer the legendary tradition of Swiss quality. Since 1998, SIGG has concentrated on its core business: drinking bottles that deliver ultimate customer benefit. Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Can Sigg bottles be used for boiling water? A: No. Strong heat can damage the outer coating. Q: Can dents in the bottle damage the Sigg bottle's inner coating? A: No, the Sigg inner coating is highly elastic. Dents cannot crack or chip the internal lining and the Sigg bottle remains perfectly usable. Q: Can I use my Sigg bottle for carbonated drinks? A: Yes, all Sigg bottle tops provide a 100 percent seal and will not leak. It's recommended that you fill the bottle no further than 1/2-inch below the lip. And before taking a drink, relieve the pressure inside the bottle by gently rotating the entire top. Q: Are Sigg bottles dishwasher safe? A: Yes, but because of the narrow mouth of the bottle, hand washing is recommended. Q: Can a Sigg bottle be placed in the freezer A: No, as this may cause the bottle to crack. However, the bottle can be chilled in the refrigerator.

Attractive but doesn't work for me January 7, 2009 clarinetist (Houston, TX United States) I love the way Sigg bottles look, and I wish more water bottles looked as nice as these. However, I ran into a couple of problems: 1) After much hassle, I found out that the 'dent' on the bottom of the bottle is supposed to be there. It's the result of the manufacturing process and does not at all affect the functionality of the bottle. I didn't know this and thought that there was a defect in the bottles I was receiving, when it's really not a defect at all. 2) When drinking from the bottle, I feel a subtle burning sensation in my throat. At first, I wasn't sure whether or not this was coming from the bottle, but after repeated use, I think it is. One other reviewer had a similar comment. The water tastes fine, but Sigg does not publish exactly what is in the enamel on the inside of the bottle because it is proprietary. In fact, they advise that you don't use the bottle for long term storage. Hmm, what happens after long term storage? Does the enamel affect the water? Is this similar to the reason for why there is an expiration date on commercial bottled water? I was enthusiastic at first about Sigg bottles, and if it were not for the burning sensation in my throat, I would probably use mine. Instead, I'm going to try a different bottle.
good for environment January 6, 2009 Susan Monac (boston, ma) My 12 yo daughter loves her bottle, my 14 yo son refuses to use his. He claims its tinny - she loves hers.
Sigg Water Bottle November 21, 2008 TKD (Michigan, USA) Its part of the eco thing to do, less plastic bottles to the land fill. However people with arthritis in their hands have to be carefull on how tight they close it because it can be hard to open.Sigg Traveler Classic Water Bottle (1.0-Liters)
Stay away from any Sigg product October 20, 2008 Dr. Ray L. Levy (Dallas, TX) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got two Sigg bottles and one started to leak. Customer service for Sigg was rude, accusatory and impossible to deal with. They blamed me for dropping it, putting it in the freezer, or anything they could think of. The truth is, that it is an inferior product. We returned it after much hassle and bought Greenfeet bottles instead, which are much better overall. My suggestion, stay away from all Sigg products, they really stink and are overpriced. Greenfeet offers a much better and sturdier product.
beautiful, functional, and eco & people friendly September 16, 2008 H. Abenoja (Honolulu, HI) I love my sigg bottles. I love that they are eco-friendly and safe to use--compared to many plastic bottles out there that are made with BPA (bisphenol a). If you're not familiar with BPA, do some research. Simply put, it's bad for you. So stainless steel bottles like Sigg bottles are the way to go. Sigg bottles are pretty easy to clean too. If you purchase Sigg's special brush set, it's even easier to clean. I also love the designs and so do my friends and co-workers. So I gave some Sigg bottles out for Xmas presents last year.
